 Pretty Cure NAME CHANGES Nagisa Misumi - Cove Blackink Nagisa means "shore" and Cove is related to the beach. Misumi is "beautiful ink", but I prefer including Black due to her alter ego. Honoka Yukishiro - Holly Snowhite Honoka means "flower spike" so I named her Holly. Yukishiro means "white snow" so I named her Snowhite. Mepple, Mipple and Pollun retain their names. Pisard retains his name. Gekidrago --> Drac Drac means "dragon" in Catalan. Poisony retains her name. Kiriya's name is changed to Kyrie. Ilkubo is renamed Diabolos. Belzei Gertrude is simply called Belzei. His alter ego, Genbu Yuuki, is changed to Seth Gertrude.  Seth is a Greek demon, I think. Regine's name is changed to Regina. Her alter ego, Shouko Kyoyama, is renamed Regina Lowvoice. Juna is renamed Killsharp. His alter ego, Ryuichiro Kakuzawa, is renamed Azazel Madeye.   NAMES CHANGED Mana Aida - Mana Ricefield Mana means love, but I think it could work for an American audience. Aida haves "rice field" in the "Da". Rikka Hishikawa - Crystal Glace I decided to call her Crystal because her diamond powers make crystals. And Glace means Ice in French. Arisu Yotsuba - Alice Cloverleaf Arisu is Alice's Japanese spelling. Yotsuba means "four leafs", so I named her Cloverleaf. Makoto Kenzaki - Ella Swordblade There's a singer named Ella in real life. Swordblade references her powers. Aguri Madoka - Ruby Acecard Rubies are red. Acecard references her powers. Sharuru - Charlie Her name can be romanized to Charles, but she's female, so I named her Charlie. Raquel - Rick I named her Rick because Raquel's a female name and he's a boy. Lance retains his name. Davi - Dina Davi is derived from David and she's a girl so, like with Raquel/Rick, I used a name similar to Davi, Dina.     Ai - Lily Ai means "love...

  SMILE PRETTY CURE It'll shown on a series web I'm working on, WATCHIT. The names are changed: Miyuki Hoshizora - Naomi Starsky Miyuki means happiness so I looked up for a name that meant happiness an Naomi was my favorite one. Hoshizora means "starry sky" so I decided to name her "Starsky". Akane Hino - Ginger Blaze Akane is a tone of red and Ginger means "red hair". Hino means "sun field" but I decided to call her "Blaze". Yayoi Kise - Lily Lovekind I named her Lily because that means "cute". I choosed Lovekind because it fits her perfectly. Nao Midorikawa - Alya Riverson Alya means "wind". Midorikawa is "green river" so I named her Riverson. Reika Aoki - May Bluewood Reika means "beautiful" and so does May.
